Wednesday evening was such an awesome night at the RAW natural born artist event. Artist from various parts of Philadelphia showcased their raw talented skills in art, photography, dance, music and fashion. I was in attendance along with my bud Marisa, to support my friend Marise Chantale, who is an extraordinary up and coming fashion designer.

Get Set. Get Ready for: Black Girls Run Preserve The Sexy Tour!

I am truly excited to let you know about another great event coming to Philadelphia, June 7, 2014. It is the Black Girls Run! Preserve The Sexy Tour. 

The tour is presented by Dark and Lovely and is sponsored by Newton Running and Essence Magazine. It is a conference open to all runners from beginners to experts, in the promotion of health, fitness and beauty.  Dark and Lovely and Black Girls RUN! have partnered to help inspire women of color to feel their best and reach their fitness goals. The tour will feature informative sessions which includes:

• Coaching on running anatomy, form, and muscle assessments from experts
• Hair styling tips and tricks from Dark and Lovely’s Director of Education Mezei Jefferson 
• A celebratory fitness party 
• Product sampling and raffles
• An understanding of the running cycle
• Proper pre- and post-workout stretching and foam rolling techniques to increase flexibility and ROM (range of motion).

• Comfortable workout clothing and running shoes.
• Small towel

Last weekend, natural haired women in the Philadelphia area gathered to attend the INTERNATIONAL NATURAL HAIR MEETUP DAY event.

• To all my fellow naturals in the Philly and Jersey Area, INHMD is hitting every major city on May 17th, 2014, including our very own City of Brotherly Love. This year, INHMD (Philly) is sponsored by Koils by Nature and hosted by two phenomenal natural hair bloggers: Juboolee and MsAlyse.
• In case you aren't familiar or never heard about INHMD: The International Natural Hair Meetup Day is a one day event that occurs annually. It is where women can meet in their own communities and network. Naturelle Me... Photoshoot Feature

Last weekend, I linked up with a wonderful young woman by the name of Sambi. She is a model and makeup artist. She asked if I would like to do a photo shoot for her that would reflect her Liberian/Sierra Leone roots, love of her culture, nature and fashion. I gladly accepted and was able to put my creative mind and talent to work to bring her vision to life. 

This spring, I am embracing more color into my wardrobe. Since I haven't done color blocking before, I figured let me take baby steps and try putting 3 colors into my outfit. (Cobalt blue, orange and pink)

The look on my face when I found out me and my friend were going the wrong way and had to walk back. 

Listened to that one friend who is not good with directions. Why? I don't know. Not good when you're walking in the city, with heels on, in the rain and close to bowlegged. Lol! It's not cute at all, no ma'am.
