NM...Style Me! Beauty Of The Month.

Taking pictures and dressing up, are a few things I like to do in my leisure. So with a little time on my hands, I did something different. I decided to have a little fun, exploring my Naturelle creative side and have a mini photo and Style Me... session with a good friend of mine.

Markia was kind enough to trust and allow me to dress her for the day, using  pieces from her very own closet. I wanted to make this session fun and showcase various looks with simplicity for a night out in the city with friends to going to the shore.

For Markias' look, I chose to pair her denim top with her lurex bodycon skirt.Denim looks good with everything. I especially love adding a touch of color like the neon yellow skirt pictured above. Included was her wooded bangles from Forever 21, gold Michael Kors watch, knotted chain necklace and my favorite round gold top rim sunglasses I purchased from ASOS.
Can you believe she paid only $6.99 for that dress!
BRACELET: I bought that from Shoe Dazzle.(not affiliated with them)
FAVORITE VERSE:
Romans 8:38-39 "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."
Markia getting her face done.
Advice to young men and women struggling with their confidence.
You gotta love yourself! God created all of us with a purpose and talents to support our purpose. Learn to love the good and the not so good about yourself. You are the apple of God's eyes and you have to always remember that.

How about being patient for their mate?
God knows what's best!
I say this because I am guilty of being mad and throwing a pity party for myself when things didn't go my way. I even started to question God's love for me. I asked God "Are things going to always be this way? Am I always going to be single? I'm ready for the next phase of my life."
One fall Sunday morning, God answered my question. He spoke through my pastor, Dr.Waller, about God's sovereignty. That day I was reminded of God's greatness. He knows all things and He is working all things together for our good. Trust God! Be patient while God is preparing your soul mate to love you. God knows what's best for you!

Remember the story of Abram and Sarai. (Genesis 16) They desperately wanted a child. After growing impatient, Sarah suggested Abram should conceive a child with the maid servant Hagar. After the child was born, Sarai became jealous of the baby and Hagar. She later sent Hagar and the child away. Lets think about this. Abram finally got the child he hoped for and Sarai's plan went as she planned it. So what's the problem here? Abram and Sarai made a natural decision that resulted in regret and shame. However, God being so great, he still allowed them to become parents. In Sarai's old age, she gave birth to a child. What God did was supernatural. His timing, his ways, and his thoughts are greater than ours. His supernatural blessings are worth the wait.
I chose Markia as Beauty of The Month not
only for her outer appearance, but this girl right
here really has a sincere heart.
BEAUTY PERSPECTIVE
Beauty from a Christian perspective is a humble pure heart. A heart that genuinely seeks to do good and desires love (God) for everyone. That to me is beauty.
This style of  shoe would go great
with that dress.
HAIR
What is your hair preference and how do you maintain it?
I don't perm my hair. I leave a section of my hair out and only straighten that part when I am wearing weaves.  I moisturize my scalp once a week. During the summer months, I may go weave-less. I must say this weave has helped my real hair grow. It gives my own hair a chance to rest and grow.
Cypruss
Jammin' in Denim
This simple look made me want to lay out in the field and watch the clouds pass by. I could just feel that sun kiss my face right now. Markia is wearing a feather print ecru color dress from Forever 21, and guess what? It was just $21.00. On her waist I added her cognac braided belt. To cinch that waist or get that hourglass figure try to add a belt.If you have a bulky sweater, shirt or dress add a belt. If you can't find a dress in your closet try a long skirt and wear it like a strapless dress then add a belt. Trust me, no one will never know!

Once again, a special thanks to my beauty of the month: Markia for participating.
I hope everyone liked my post and the outfits I picked out for Markia. Tell me which one was your favorite and where you would wear it to or pair it with.

Shoe Pick For The Short Chics!

My shoe senses are telling me that ankle strapped heels or stilettos, are becoming or will become popular this spring. Would you agree?

For all of you vertically challenged ladies like myself (Team Shorty), you may have heard that sometimes wearing ankle strapped heels, can make you appear shorter or its a fashion DON'T to wear ankle straps if you're short. Well, I wouldn't pay those rumors any mind. I know with my short self, I'll still wear them. Breaking the rules, oh well!

The only thing I try to avoid and what I noticed for myself (since I have thin ankles) is to stay away from the thick and bulky straps. You don't want to look like you are on house arrest. Nuh nuh nooo!

I normally go for thin straps, it just looks better. For those with thicker ankles try going for a medium width or thin stacked straps, it will probably make them appear smaller. If you're not one for ankle straps I love the sling backs, they do make your legs look longer and of course the T-straps are nice.

Here are a few picks from Steve Madden's line which I love and thought would be
suitable for my shorty crew and all other heights.

By the way I have to be honest, they have some great deals going on, you should definitely check them out and plus Enjoy 15% off $100 plus free shipping at Steve Madden. Just use the code SMMAR1 when you are checking out. Its good until March 31.
